Wankers

Why do people blog, really?

Often asked, and often answered question, eh. I'm just wondering, because with the anonymity and consequence-free world of the Internet, people love being able to say what is really on their mind. They can reveal secrets, talk about themselves (where in other settings it would be boasting). But also swear (fuck! asshole!) , criticize wantonly. Insult others. Hey, that stuff is fun to read for some.

But there is reason why civility and manners was created. There's a certain elegance to it.

Some bloggers that were fun to read, turn out to be quite malicious in the end.

I have to not "blog". One has to simply write instead, without panderance to the audience. Ahahahaahaha.

Little people

Ugh. Painful. You try to contribute to the general good, maybe argue intellectually a little with some worthy debaters, then some idiot jumps in. Then you feel like the proverbial guy who wrestles with the pig in the sty - you only get dirty and smelly, but the pig likes it.

Inevitably, these people usually use the three letters "lol", or a whole lot of high horsery.

Argh.

I do know one thing. There are ways that can control these little people. That's why PR people, politicians and movie stars of old are such geniuses at what they do.

A good start

All right! 55 minutes in, and I've got a spanking new blog, and added links.

Hello bro! You're of course, probably the only who might be reading this.

Until later. Time to get back to work.

Alright, free writing

Like many people, I have thoughts coursing through my mind at light speed. Like some people, I am conscious of these thoughts. Like a few people, I felt that these thoughts were like shooting stars: a brilliant flash, and gone in a few minutes, leaving but a vague after-image.

Maybe that is why people start blogs. To either record their life thoughts, or to share their life thoughts.

Every time I get around to starting a blog, the thoughts come flashing by so fast my fingers cannot keep up. The thoughts go everywhere, without a central theme. I keep second-guessing myself, even keep contradicting myself at times. Somewhere between the thoughts, and the keyboard, there was usually a short-circuit. My mind keeps thinking up different ways of phrasing and expressing thoughts, and each time a few debates go off right inside my head as to which is the best one.

This perfectionist (perfectionists are usually driven by fear, aren't they? :) ) method is not getting me anywhere.

So.

For the next hour, I will write naturally. Tap into my mental river-rapid of consciousness and attempt to navigate from one point, to another. Just hopefully not end up at the same place.

Where would I like to go? A little further downstream is fine, check out the new scenery, if you will come with me.

I need to focus on less things. To simplify. Yesterday I started going through the books I have, picking out those that does not contribute to my immediate goals. For example, I have a book on the KGB & CIA, and also the Malaysian Book of Records. And the Dummy's Guide to Modems. Ha ha ha.

I put them aside.

Well, you know, I have to simplify, de-clutter my physical environment even as I de-clutter my mind.

Relax yourself, man. Don't attach to much to some things which do not need to have so much attached.

Gawd. 10 minutes in, and my mind is tiring, from holding back the torrent of thoughts flowing through.

I suppose this will get better with practice, eh? Yeah, let's drink a toast to the successful continuation of this blog.
